This past summer we cleaned headstones on three mornings. We usually had 6 to 7 people working on these beautiful markers. Its quite a reflective experience, cleaning stones so the names and dates are once again seen. We had three lovely days and cleaned 122 headstones and markers. A huge thanks for all your work.
We have worked our way over the years from the oldest graves nearest Church Street, past the rows where many rectors are buried, down toward the bottom of the hill. In addition to cleaning, we have also cut back invasive vines that attach themselves to the old trees that stand as silent sentinels to the past. We will begin cleaning again next spring. All are welcome!
