Worship
We always welcome visitors and newcomers and strive to make every effort to help everyone feel comfortable and at ease during our services.
Our Sunday morning services, which are communion services, are held at 8 and 10 AM, follow the Book of Common Prayer and other authorized service books. Baptisms are usually held during the 10am service. In addition, during the course of the year, we have an occasional weekday worship service.
A lively, friendly and well-attended Coffee Hour is provided in our parish house, Fisher House, each Sunday after the 10 AM service. Our average combined attendance for both services is between 80-100 people.
In parishioners’ own words, the Church of the Messiah maintains “openness to others, acceptance of diversity, embracing of children, friendliness” and is a community of “lots of wonderful people, with many interesting personalities.” Most important, perhaps, at the Church of the Messiah “you can be who you are,” whether one of the children enjoying “all the good stuff we do in Church School” or one of the many older parishioners who are appreciated, in the words of one person, for “sharing their wisdom and strength with us.”
